Waveform
Sources
Sine, square, sawtooth or triangle.
Plays a steady wave from the moment the graph plays: a sine, a square, a sawtooth or a triangle, at the frequency and amplitude you set. The frequency takes any whole hertz. Pan places the wave between the left and right channels: in the centre both carry it; fully left, the right channel is silent, and fully right, the left. Into a 3D Environment, which hears one channel, Pan does nothing. For a binaural beat, pan two Waveforms a few hertz apart to opposite sides and mix them: 200 Hz on the left and 210 Hz on the right beat at 10 Hz, the difference, which is heard only on headphones, where each ear hears one tone.
Settings
- Wave
The shape of the wave.
- Choices
- Sawtooth, Sine, Square or Triangle
- Default
- Sine
A control node can move it.
- Frequency
How many times a second the wave repeats, in hertz: its pitch.
- Range
- 1 Hz to 20 kHz
- Step
- 1 Hz
- Default
- 440 Hz
A control node can move it.
- Amplitude
How loud the wave is, as a linear gain: 1 is full scale, 0.5 is half, about 6 dB quieter, and 0 is silent.
- Range
- 0 to 1
- Step
- 0.1
- Default
- 0.5
- Unit
- A linear gain, where 1 leaves the level as it is
A control node can move it.
- Pan
Places the wave from left at −100 to right at 100, with 0 in the centre: the far channel fades to silence and the near one stays as it is. Into one channel, as in a 3D Environment, it does nothing.
- Range
- -100% to 100%
- Step
- 1%
- Default
- 0%
A control node can move it.
